DLF2

Ek thi RWA….

Once upon a time, there was an RWA in DLF Phase 2. It consisted of a team of elected members, a few of whom worked tirelessly for the betterment of the colony. They organized cultural events that engaged and included people of all ages. They also addressed disputes caused by construction-related issues promptly. The RWA team worked hand in hand with DLF security and the police to ensure safety measures were in place for the security of residents, their homes, and their domestic staff.

However, the tenure of this team ended in August 2024, and re-elections could not be conducted.

Over the last three months, we have documented the series of events that led to the indefinite postponement of the RWA elections. With no elected RWA team and no administrator currently in the colony, the question arises: Who represents the residents of DLF Phase 2? Who will hold various public agencies accountable for issues related to sanitation, water supply, electricity, and security?

A Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) is a vital organization in any residential community, serving as a bridge between the residents and local authorities. It plays a crucial role in fostering harmony, improving living standards, and ensuring the well-being of all residents. An active and efficient RWA builds a sense of belonging and collective responsibility among residents, contributing to a healthier, safer, and more vibrant community.

The previous RWA team and residents must go up to the registrar’s office to put in a joint request to speed up the process so that the members can select and elect their representatives and they can form the new RWA. We urge and encourage all residents of the colony to set aside their differences and unite towards one common goal: the betterment of our colony, DLF Phase 2. Together, we can create a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous living environment. Let us join hands and take collective responsibility for our shared home.
