Ego Of Giving! 

I am generally, high on decluttering. But there was this old exclusive, sky blue lehenga-choli with hand embroidered bootis, which I was holding on to. My daugter had worn many times over. Now, she was ready to part with it.  Let Go, is what, I heard and had to agree upon. I called my house-help, keeping the skirt all spread out on the table, to show how beautiful and expensive it was, specifically pointing out the hand-work, the net dupatta with tassels. How she had the privilege to receive it! Waiting for me to stop, she uttered the final words – ‘Didi, Mujhe colour pasand nahin hai’ and walked away. I was aghast, is an understatement. ‘Ego of Giving’ was ceremoniously busted!
