This year, Earth day was celebrated with the theme “Invest in our planet” on April 23,2023 at Okhla bird sanctuary with chief Forest Officer (CFO) Ganga Prasad.
There was discussions held on biodiversity, water conservation and how to conserve resources and make our earth a better place to live. Emphasis was given on sustainable development with the limited resources available to us by using them effectively and avoiding wastage.
The participants were encouraged to pass on these best practices for environment conservation to our next generation. A quiz competition was also conducted and all the participants were given prizes for correct answers. At the gate number one of the bird sanctuary, a nearby wall was painted by volunteer to make it more beautiful. The programme ended with vote of thanks to the CFO and his team and refreshments were served.
