On the occasion of Noida Divas, on 17 April, Noida Authority (NA) has given a green gift to the commuters/residents of Noida. The e-cycle scheme has been launched by the NA to give
last mile affordable connectivity. It can be termed as another feather in the cap of NA. Noida has been in news for various activities towards environment protection be it garbage segregation and disposal, dust free roads, mechanical/vacuum cleaning of roads, tree plantation and increasing green covers, ban on burning leaves and other waste, spraying water on roadside trees, mandatory rain harvesting and so on.
The E-cycle concept was planned many years back but could not come into existence due to certain reason that includes suitable vendor and safe available space on the roads for cycle users.
Recently HCL foundation with UP Government and Noida Authority also organized a National level cycle completion known as HCL Cyclothon on 19 March in various categories i.e. professionals, amateurs and green ride to promote cycling. The use of cycle is not only eco-friendly but also economical and it comes with additional health benefits. The use of cycle will save many tons of carbon radiation annually.
One such station is in Sector-93, at the crossing near to Silvercity, where people can use the e-cycle service after downloading the app and completing one-time KYC. Of course, one has to charge the wallet with some amount to start a healthy ride.
There are 62 docking stations equipped with 10 ready to use cycle through app-based system.The cycle taken from any docking station can be deposited at any station and money will be deducted through prepaid wallet on hourly basis. The rates for first 30 minutes are Rs 15 and security deposit is Rs 299. The cycle can be unlocked and locked only through App.
The app named TURBAN MOBILITY can be downloaded by scanning the QR code at any Docking station or e-cycle webpage. Although, the App is presently available on Android phones and soon it shall also be available for iPhone users. Also, all the cycles at all docking station are yet to be fitted with app-based locking/unlocking devices.
