After two years of Dullness due to Lock Down, it was time to Dazzle & Sparkle and E-Block ushered in the Festival of Lights with a Big Bang Diwali Dhamaal that was welcomed with a huge turn out. Preparations for the Event got underway in the shadow of WhatsApp messages suggesting Community Functions cannot be held in Parks. Reason, disgruntled elements made cowardly anonymous complaints against the RWA…… It is widely known who could stoop so low, such complaints had been made earlier on Lohri, Sufi Night etc.
Saurabh Bharadwaj our dynamic MLA helped salvage the day, with Upinder Singh (Lucky) Saurabh’s right hand man came and camped in the ground and finally the Mela got underway. Excited Children who had been cooped up at home for the past two Diwali’s were the first to swarm in and were delighted to see Free Rides, Magic Show and many other activities lined up for them. Where there are Kids there are parents in toe, the Free Rides, Mini Train, Horses, Bouncy etc and DJ ensured that they all remained in the ground till the end.
Sales, games & food stalls did brisk business, the half hourly raffle was a huge draw as the prizes included five semi precious stone necklaces with an MRP of Rs. 5000/- each sponsored by block resident Kuwar Anand’s Nazaah Jewellery and other exciting Prizes. As always, Tambola rounds kept people involved, as did many more attractions and events. Kudos to the RWS Team for putting up a grand show and appreciation for Title Sponsor TATA Capital for their contribution towards community bonding.
