As always this year too E-Block RWS celebrated Independence Day with a lot of enthusiasm, the whole Block was bedecked with the tri-colour. The past few years, especially during the 1st Lockdown, the RWS thought of a novel way to spread cheer among residents by decorating the Block in the national flag.
The Sports Ground where the National Flag was unfurled was decorated beautifully with flowers, balloons and buntings. The residents had gathered in large numbers and the festive atmosphere was livened up with live singing of patriotic songs and poems by the enthusiastic children of the Block.
In a welcome coincidence the three dignitaries, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, Councillor Shikha Rai and SHO Bhanu Pratap arrived within minutes of each other, that too more or less close to the flag hoisting time announced.
The National Flag was unfurled by the three dignitaries and kudos to the RWS Cultural Team led by Rajan Chadha, Rajat Bansal and Aman Kapoor for a well- organized function and the delicious brunch of purani dilli delicacies bedmi poori, aloo & sitaphal sabzi, methi chatni, kach alu salad and tilla kulfi.
