Keeping the pollution levels in mind, even this year Dusshera was celebrated by doing a laser show and not by burning effigies.
President Khosla and his managing committee wished happy Dusshera to everyone present and listed all the work done by the club in the last year and their plans. Sector kids came dressed up as Ram Sita and Hanuman. Some recited poems and bhajans on stage while others performed on Ram and Sita’s struggles. Almost 10 to 15 kids came dressed up, and the parents were too happy to see their kids on stage.
There was a big screen on which a professional team played Ramlila through the laser show. The show is an alternative to celebrating this festival than burning effigies.
Many children in the sector burnt small effigies of Ravana and were happy doing so. This time, one could see small Ravanas of approximately 3 feet on sale at various places, and kids purchased them in large numbers and burnt them in parks in front of their houses.
