Dusshera Celebrated in Club 26
Residents of our sector and a big crowd from other sectors visited our sector to witness the triumph of good over evil. Three colorful 20-25 feet tall effigies of Ravana, Meghnath
and Kumbhkaran were erected on club lawns and burnt to ashes at about 6.30 in the evening. It had rained heavily in the afternoon and the situation became difficult for the organizers to ensure the effigies catch fire.
It was totally a green Dusshera celebration as no cracker was used maintaining Govt norms to avoid pollution.
A small stage was put for the kids of the sector and many kids came dressed as Ram Sita and Manthra. All happily recited small poems related to the Lives of Sita and Ram.
As everyone was waiting eagerly for Ravana dahan, MC members ensured the safety of the event by putting a wire in front of the erected effigies so that no one crosses that line. This festival is favourite among all age groups and it was fascinating to see that the parents were holding their kids on their shoulders to see they don’t miss anything.
Club president with his MC members was also present. He talked about his planning to renovate restaurant and for that he requested members to pay their subscriptions.
Later Laddoos were distributed as Prasad!
