Panch Shila Montessori School organised a Dussehra & Diwali Carnival by children and for children in association with Curiosity Club of Delhi on Sunday, 6th October’24.
It was a joyful event filled with lively music, yummy food, challenging games, a tattoo corner & many other fun activities.
The event’s highlight was that the game stalls were conceptualised and managed by children, the youngest being a mere 8-year-old.
It was a delight to see children take ownership and experience the way they went about promoting their stall, attracting the visitors, and engaging with the young and adults.
The stalls had an interesting variety of products and activities. We had around 30 stalls, half of which were conceptualised and managed by the kids, while the other covered foods & beverages and items for sale.
We had homemade hand-made soaps & candles, kids’ stationery & accessories, gifts, books, and even educational kits, to name some. A few known brands like Dolcerme for home baked items, Cold Love Ice cream, L’Opera were also present on the occasion. One young girl had a stall selling bags with her artwork on it, which was wonderful to witness.
The children had a gala time on the bouncy, set up for the occasion. The carnival, attended by almost 250 people, was a wonderful way to experience the festive spirit, connect with the community, and create lasting memories. We are grateful to the teachers who worked tirelessly along with the children, the society which partnered with us to make this possible, the parents and other visitors who graced the occasion, and the administrative staff who helped set things up and clean up after the carnival.
