The time of festivities starts with Navratras, and so people start looking forward to one after the other events. We too prepared our Dushera celebrations with my students and mothers.
On October 10th, the park was filled with children and our regular walkers who gathered to celebrate Dushera with us. What made our day special was the arrival of Abhishek Dutt ji to celebrate with us and give special gifts to all the kids.
My special thanks to Seema Kandhari and Mansi Brar, for supporting us throughout. And also to Vivek Vaid ji , Mandeep Singh ji, Anuj Bakshi ji, Vijay Pandeyji, Sumeet Chugh ji, and all the residents and regular walkers who took out their precious time to come and encourage us.
On this special day, we had Ravaan making competition (using waste), performances by kids — group song, composed by nine-year-old Anu, group dances, a recital of the Dushera celebration by 4 to 6 year-old kids, Debate on Ravaan as a bad person versus Ravan as a good person, and a special dandiya and garba presentation by mothers of these kids.
A fun-filled evening and blessings from all made our day especially special and motivated us to do more and better, involving more and more of the less privileged kids.
Someone has to step up for them too, and someone has to showcase them too. My sincere thanks to all those who appreciate and support our cause.
