Speaking with Dr Anu Goswami (R-99A, Kensin-gton Park) was a pleasure. What intrigued me was that she is a Gynaecologist who also provides consultation for lifestyle management.
Dr Goswami says, “In my gynaecology journey, I was aggravated when I came across young girls with PCOS, women with dysfunctional bleeding, infertility etc taking medications with a lot of side effects and overweight people annoyed with their problems.”
Dr Goswami realised the basic cause of many of these diseases was a weight issue and insulin resistance. “As someone with a hectic life, I too faced the same challenges and decided to go deeper to tackle the problem at the root level.”
Dr Goswami today goes out of her way to help residents in correcting basic lifestyle habits with guidance and community support.”I want to prevent the preventable, delay the inevitable & get rid of lifelong medications.”
A number of residents credit Dr Goswami for helping them with their diabetes, hypothyroidism & obesity problems.
In her free time, Dr Goswami loves to spend it with her daughter, husband, father & little pet Nawaab. “Family means the world to me!”She also loves to exercise and listen to music.
Dr Goswami’s message to the residents is to invest in right preventive measures to bypass modern lifestyle diseases. “We live once. So, we must invest in a healthy body that will serve us for our lifetime.”
