Navratri, Dandiya & Dusshera Celebrations Unfold
In the heart of DLF Phase 2, a vibrant celebration unfolded during the auspicious Ashwin Navratri festival. The Gauri Shankar Mandir served as the backdrop for this week-long revelry, commencing on the 15th of October and concluding on the 23rd. The Mandir Sammiti, led by devoted members, kicked off the festivities with “Bhajan Kirtan and Gun Gan of Maa Durga.” The soul-stirring performances were impeccably delivered by the talented Veenu Kalra and her team. The divine melodies filled the air from 3 PM to 5 PM every day, offering a divine connection to all who attended.
No Navratri celebration is complete without the rhythmic beats of Dandiya. On the 21st of October, the community center witnessed a lively Dandiya night, where residents swayed to the beats of tradition. The DLF-2 RWA organised this event successfully which was very well managed with no traffic nuisance. A huge turnout of residents enjoyed the dance, food and other stalls. The event was followed by the Ram leela and Ravan Dahan on 24th October at the community centre where a professional theatre company performed the Ram Leela on stage. Later the Ravan Dahan happened in the main lawns.
As Navratri unfolded, the Nishwarth Sewa Foundation by Sapna Sehrawat, nestled at K10/40 DLF-2, orchestrated a heartwarming Bhandara on the 23rd of October. The generous contributions of the residents made it a resounding success, reflecting the spirit of giving and community togetherness.
Nandita Chopra, a resident with a heart of gold, presented an exceptional Ram Leela. Scripting, directing, and producing the entire event, she played Ravan, while underprivileged children from Bachpanshala brought to life the characters of Ram, Sita, Hanuman, and Lakshman. Her kindness extended to distributing quilts and delectable snacks to these little stars. Tanmay Sikka volunteered to capture the moments on camera.
In the M block, a 9-foot Ravan added to the grandeur of the celebration, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Akash Gupta and Mr. Sumit Oberoi. The rituals of Ravan Dahan were followed by prasad distribution.
Nidhi Lamba, residing in L Block, enchanted young minds with her storytelling during the Ram Katha recitation. Her mesmerizing tales brought joy to kids and parents alike.
Finally, Seema Bahl added an eco-friendly twist to the Dussehra celebrations by creating an eco-friendly Ravan with underprivileged children, keeping up the tradition of celebrating with a green heart, year after year.
The residents of DLF Phase 2 celebrated Navratri, Dandiya, and Dussehra with an unbreakable bond of community spirit and shared joy, making these festivities unforgettable.
