DLF-5 Area Plagued by Congestion and Traffic Woes

Many residents of Exclusive Floors during the early afternoon and evening hours of working days are reminded of the famous catchphrase of the epic Star Trek series… “Beam me up, Scotty”.  It is indeed the bane of those seeking ingress/egress from the society’s precincts, particularly during school dispersal hours of the adjoining baccalaureate school, to get stuck in traffic jams.

Traffic woes around DLF Phase 5 in Gurgaon are a major concern for residents. The area is plagued by congestion, particularly during peak hours, due to the schools in and around Club Drive and not enough done to create a seamless distribution of traffic.

Other key issues that add to the congestion is the waste dumped on roads with stray cattle moving and blocking roads, it’s a driver’s nightmare. Inadequate traffic management and lack of infrastructure at the roundabout of Genpact exacerbate the congestion issue.

The impact on residents is constant congestion and traffic woes which can be stressful and frustrating. Also, the construction which has sprung up recently adds to the already deteriorating situation  which residents continue to face with alarming levels of AQI.

Town planning in urban areas seems to be confined to creation of departments within the administration besides revenue gener-ation, rather than fostering improved community well-being which also forms part of the core objectives of town planning.

Parts of Sarawati Kunj are becoming dumping grounds for garbage and construction material wastes. It needs immediate attention or-else we will be soon sitting on a garbage mountain.
