Vacations are always a welcome change from the daily grind of life and DLF-2 residents never shy from making elaborate plans to take a road less travelled.
Lohagarh
On 6 November a group of 35 residents lead by Sapna Sehrawat took a day trip to Lohagarh farms.
What followed was a day of fun, laughter, and bonding over hot home-cooked meals. The merry group comprised teenagers and adults both. All enjoyed the various attractions the destination has to offer. Residents especially enjoyed the village theme-based attractions showcasing rural India and how life is in the villages far from the maddening crowd. Hot delicious home-cooked meals were devoured by all. On the way back they made a small stop at Vishalgarh farms too and planned to visit that in near future. All in all a great day spent under the sun.
Varanasi
Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in India and a popular tourist destination. Sapna Sehrawat organised a trip of 18 residents to Varanasi in the last week of November. The age group was 17 to 70 years! Fun moments included a cruise on the river Ganges, spicy chaat on the ghaats and merry dancing and singing. Since Varanasi is famous for its temples and spirituality the residents visited all the acclaimed heritage sites and temples. They especially enjoyed the Mangla Aarti at Kashi Vishwanath temple and the mystical Annapurna temple.
Lots of pictures were clicked at Prayagraj and Triveni which is the Sangam to three rivers. Joyous boat rides and bathing in holy water added to the overall experience.
Inspired by these excursions many more residents are wishing for such group trips to be organised on regular basis. Another upcoming trip is to the Akshardham temple scheduled in early December.
