A new and highly required initiative was launched in DLF-2 to address the issue of broken or abandoned idols and religious images. It is disheartening to see shattered idols and torn photos discarded on streets or under peepal trees. Devotees should not neglect these sacred objects. Proper rituals, including prayer and offerings of rice and holy water, should be followed before disposing of any damaged idols, particularly after Diwali. Residents of DLF Phase 2 have been kindly requested over the years to avoid placing idols or religious objects under the Peepal tree. The year-round prayers to Laxmi Ganesh ji are a source of spiritual strength, but it is deeply hurtful to see these idols left carelessly after Diwali. This act is perceived as disrespectful and contrary to the sanctity they deserve. As Vastu consultants and astrologers advise keeping a solid silver Laxmi Ganesh idol permanently in your home for continuous blessings of prosperity, peace, and success, in turn reducing the need to discard old idols. The campaign, Immersion of Broken and Abandoned Idols, aims to properly dispose of damaged idols according to religious practices. The initiative was initiated by the Branch Team and Hanuman Chalisa Group, with a firm commitment to rid DLF Phase 2 of broken idols by following a ritualistic process that involves prayers, offerings of rice, and Ganga water before the idols are sent off. This campaign, which took place from November 2-3, 2024, seeks to protect the sanctity of religious idols and promote awareness within the community. The group has specifically encouraged residents to avoid leaving idols under Peepal trees, a practice considered disrespectful. Residents have also been reminded to properly worship idols before their departure, especially during festivals like Diwali. The campaign leaders include Vipin Ji, Meenu Ji, Rajan Ji, Dinesh Ji, Ashok Ji and several other volunteers in the community. This drive is a welcome move & hopefully will create more awareness in the community.
