Diwali Mela was celebrated in the front lawn of Saket Dham Apartments on the evening of Sunday, October 16, 2022 with great fun and fervour. This is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year by the residents for celebration and enjoyment in the society premises along with their families and friends.
The venue of Diwali Mela was beautifully decorated with colourful and artistically designed lighting arrangement over the trees and plants of the park, giving it a classic look. Focussed lighting was also done at many locations to enhance the grace of celebration zone. Additionally all the towers of the society were illuminated in a very elegant manner. The overall decoration set up was simple but very impressive. A nice sitting ambience was created with round tables surrounded by set of chairs with colour themes in the open air pandal.
A number of stalls of Pani puri, Aaloo Tikki, Pav Bhaji, Chhole Bhature, Egg Roll, Jalebi and Coffee etc., were put up in the pandal by the outside vendors to serve hot n fresh snacks and sweets. Additionally, stalls of Khasta Kachori, decorations and Games etc. were also put up by Saket Dham residents.
Residents of Saket Dham started pouring in at the Pandal after the Deepavali lights were switched on in the evening. As usual, initially, the response was lukewarm but it picked up very fast with the passage of time. The weather was very pleasant and the residents looked fresh, energetic, full of excitement and in great festive mood for the open air Diwali Mela celebrations.
The celebrations started with Ganesh vandana with chanting of mantras by Pandit ji followed by Laxmi pujan. Almost all the stalls ran brisk business and the residents enjoyed the tempting, mouth-watering, irresistible and finger licking variety of snacks. Chhole Bhature and Games stalls were the most favourite and attracted the maximum number of customers. DJ was another added attraction to shake a leg on the dance floor. Residents enjoyed dancing to the popular Bollywood songs. Awards were announced for the best dressed persons and best dancers both in male and female category.
This time again, it was a cracker less eco-friendly celebration to contribute our bit to the environment. In nutshell, the Diwali Mela was fun-filled and the residents enjoyed to their best.
