As soon as Dussehra gets over, with festivity in the air, everybody starts waiting for Diwali and the mela around it. Of course the reason being all the enjoyment, shopping, good times and great food. Now Mela hopping has become a part of Diwali.
After the success of Dandia Night, WECA planned dance performances for the age group 6 to 12,13 to 20, and 21 years and above. For the same choreographer Nikita was appointed and practice commenced on 9th October.
At Wellington, Diwali Mela was held on 16th October. Preparations started way before. The entire Wellington was lit up with colorful lights. The entrance gate of mela was decorated with Rangoli and lights. Mela started at 5 pm and continued till 11 pm.There were stalls of dresses,bed sheets, jewelry, gift items, herbal products, dry fruits, ice cream,and a big number of veg.and nonveg stalls.
Some game stalls were also managed by children. Most of the crowd thronged the food stalls. Two rounds of Tambola started at 6.30 and 7.30 respectively. The dance performance of kids started at 8pm and after the kids and ladies took their turns.The dance performance was outstanding and everybody enjoyed it.
