A2 Block has been a pioneer in celebrating Diwali Melas. Ex President Geetanjali Jaitely used to organise this programme with great fan fare and a large number of residents from A2 as well as other blocks used to attend her wonderful event. This year a new RWA has come into power and their team organised this function. There were entry tickets, games and stalls and a musical programme. Hon’ble MLA Somnath Bharti was the chief guest and Ex Counculloe Shailender Singh Monti was the guest of honour. Bharti inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp on the dias and wished happy Diwali to all. He stressed upon removing darkness from the society and lighting the diya of love, brotherhood and communal harmony to keep the Ravana pf negativity at bay to live in a peaceful society. Shailender Singh Monti also wished the residents and briefly talked about his works that were executed in Safdarjung Enclave during his tenure.
