The students and teachers of Panchshila Montessori School celebrated Diwali with much enthusiasm on Friday, 21st October’22. The teachers narrated stories about why Diwali is celebtated and how it is celebrated. They were told about how we clean her houses and then decorate them with diyas, rangoli and flowers. We buy new clothes and exchange sweets with our friends and family. Children looked resplendent as they came dressed in ethnic finery for the occasion. The teachers had organized hands on activities related to Diwali like grading of diyas, Lantern matching and counting of Diyas and lanterns. Kudos to the teachers for their innovative ideas for fun and learn.
Children sang Diwali songs like “Deep Jalao”, “Mere Tumhare liye-happy Diwali” with the music teacher.
The entire school looked festive with decorations in vibrant hues made by the children with their teachers. The school had an ambience of joy and happiness. A big rangoli at the entrance of the school was made decorated with flowers and rangoli colours. The celebrations started by performing Puja to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.
The Principal offered her warm wishes to the children and encouraged them to share their old toys and books with the less fortunate ones on the occasion of Diwali.
It was heartening to see the children and teachers celebrating the festival with so much enthusiasm and in good spirit.
