PW hosted Rapid Chess Tournament on 1st Dec 24. On this day, the Front Club turned into Sports Village, with players and spectators thronging to glimpse the filtration process to select the PW Chess Champion. The event was a resounding success, bringing a lot of passionate players together.
80 contestants between 70 years and 5 years of age, 6 round robins, 178 matches in total; it was daylong thrill. Joyful were matches where under 10 defeated senior citizens through intense battle. Event highlighted the growing interest for Chess in younger generation.
In the end, it was Divam Talwar, 9 years old boy from F 002 who securing coveted Title of Champion a nail-biting final match. We are sure he is on course to brighter achievements in near future.
