August 2024 saw a turn of events for the RWA of DLF2 when its elections announced at their June AGM for 25th August 2024 were put on hold just a day before the schedule by the District Registrar, Firms & Societies. This came about after a petition filed by a group of residents about opening membership to RWA was filed to the Registrar.
Inadvertently, after the petition and subsequent investigations, it was concluded by the Registrar that the RWA management had a series of miscommunications with the Registrar office and processes, thus not receiving the necessary approvals for its governing council over the years.
As a result, KS Yadav, has been appointed as Administrator-cum-Returning Officer by the District Registrar to manage the affairs and to conduct the elections of the RWA Governing body at the earliest within 3 months period. He is currently holding his office at the community centre over the weekends.
Sh. Yadav, on taking charge, issued a notice to residents on 7 Sept stating that the older byelaws of RWA as in effect before 2021 will be considered for official purposes. Keeping the memberships registered before 30 Aug intact and eligible to vote, new membership signup has been put on hold. As special consideration, applications which were withheld before 31 August 2024 were reviewed for acceptance till 22 Sept resulting in 11 more members joining the voting pool.
In a fresh notice on 24 Sept, KS Yadav, announced the schedule for elections, which will be held on 27 Oct with direct voting for – One (1) post of President, Two (2) post of Vice President, One (1) post of General Secretary, One (1) post of Treasurer, Thirteen (13) posts of Executive Members thus forming a 18 member Governing Council.
All members as per final list to be announced on 7 Oct will be eligible to vote and contest for the 18 seats. The nomination process will begin 10 Oct with KS Yadav as Returning Officer and the polling will take place at the Community Centre on 27 Oct with counting of votes and result to be declared the same day after the process completion.
