Discovering in House Talent and Celebrating Freedom with Nirvana Senior Citizens

As Nirvanites, we have continually evolved, reaching new heights in fostering participative and healthy community living. It’s been truly inspiring to witness how the “Senior Citizens Forum, Nirvana Country” and the “YoungBoys Club”—a group of seniors who are young at heart—have transformed into dynamic organizations. They have become increasingly active, making a significant impact across Nirvana. Through their continuous activities, these groups are ensuring that the most vulnerable members of our community, especially the Seniors and Super Seniors, who form a substantial part of Nirvana’s population, are supported and benefiting in every possible way.

Our senior citizens came together with great enthusiasm to celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day. The event was a joint effort by the “Senior Citizens Forum, Nirvana Country” and the “YoungBoys Club,” where we paid our respects by singing the National Anthem and hoisting the National Flag.

The day began early in the morning at Deerwood Park, where Naresh Ummat, the senior-most member of the YoungBoys Club, had the honor of hoisting the National Flag. It was a heartwarming moment, followed by the sharing of sweets, snacks, and piping hot tea among the club members and morning walkers who were present at the park.

Later in the day, the Senior Citizens Forum led a grand celebration at the Patio Club’s poolside lawn. Mamta Aggarwal, our Forum’s President, proudly hoisted the National Flag, and we all enjoyed a delightful High Tea and Lunch.

The highlight of the day was a vibrant cultural program held in the Patio Club’s main hall. A medley of patriotic songs by Manit Jaju, Dr. Aggarwal, and Indu Kochhar received thunderous applause from everyone. The event showcased the incredible talents of our seniors, with musical performances and colorful dance routines based on patriotic themes by the ladies of the Forum. Everyone was dressed in their finest attire, with many of us sporting the tricolor to commemorate this special occasion.
