This unique foundation is doing a remarkable job in providing a dignified living to the senior citizens where the are living a lonely life either because of their children liv-ing abroad, or dur to their physical illnesses and limitations and youngsters having no time for their old parents. The organisation was the brain child of DR Sheelu Srinivasan who once saw an old lady in wheel chair at the airport around 25 years ago where the old lady’s children left her abandoned.It times such incidents change your lives forever and this was indeed a turning point in Dr Sheelu’s life when she thought of starting Dignity Foundation for seniors which now has branches in 6-7 cities in India like Mumbai. Pune, Chennai Delhi and NCR. In Delhi and NCR the group is in the name of Chai Masti. The group aims to provide a platform for old people to meet and have fun. They share their thoughts with each other, sing and dance , celebrate birthdays and anniversaries of its members with great enthusiasm. Last month the Delhi Chapter celebrated Harjeet and Paramjeet’s marriage anniversary and this month they celebrated Pankaj Aggarwal’s birthday with great fan fare. It was their way of showing their love and gratitude to Pankaj who is forever supporting their cause and is always available for arranging various programmes for them. A young girl Meenu had organised a cultural programme by inviting Poet’s club which comprises of young children who performed an excellent programme for about one and a half hour. Everyone enjoyed the event thoroughly. It was a fun filled day which the seniors will cherish for a long time to come. Everyone wished Pankaj and they all danced together. Pankaj Aggarwal treated everyone with delicious Purani Dilli ki chaat , papdi , dahi Bhalla, gol gappe, moong dal chilla, matar kulcha and special kulfi falooda. It was a day of celebrations which filled the members hearts to the brim with immense joy.
