Hey…. What does this mean? In simple words a period of time during which a person refrains from using electronic devices; which is the need of the hour… seriously!
It is very well understood that without smartphones life actually stops. Every information related to school, office, society is inside that small wireless device. However, my opinion is one should be away from cell phones or any device, e.g. television, after or before work hours positively. That is a golden time of interaction with your family and friends.
I know people are not happy with their children of their over usage of cell phones. However, you often find yourself glued to your smartphone screen and scrolling endlessly as chunks of time slip away. That constant connection with devices can also affect your quality of life and overload your senses. That’s why taking a break from your numerous social media apps and sometime away from screens could be good for your mental and physical health.
Excess of screen time, especially, leads to sleeping disorder and unhealthy eating. Result of which many of the young age children are facing in these times.
It is at this point that the ‘Digital Detox’ comes into picture. Unplugging yourself from your devices or making the effort to use them less can help improve your quality of life and you –
• Will feel calm and content
• Will be more productive
• Will be social and connected to the world around you
• Will sleep better and feel delighted
First and foremost digital detox rule to follow is to be away from phone/television during meal times. Rest… we all know but just have to kick start. Good Luck!
