South City -1 started getting populated in the mid-nineties and initially, all Electrical infrastructure was being managed by Unitech. About a decade ago, Unitech started having financial trouble and refused to allocate staff for the maintenance of our electrical infrastructure. With the handover of the colony by Unitech in 2019, Residents have been demanding the setting up of a DHBVN Complaint Centre in our colony. This demand was first voiced in a meeting with the MLA Mr. Rakesh Daulatabad in August 2021, but the RWA did not pursue this. Residents had to go to Sector 31 to speak to the Junior Engineer or other staff.
SCRWA EC Team is now delighted to announce that the DHBVN centre was inaugurated near A and B Block on 9th April 2024, by Ms Shalini Pannu, Executive Engineer, DHBVN. Mr M K Sharma, Director-DHBVN (retired) and Mr Subhash Deswal. Chief Engineer Gurgaon- DHBVN (retired) welcomed all present on behalf of SCRWA.
SDO Mr Dharam Singh, Mr Sanket Kataria and DHBVN staff were guests of honour, and more than five dozen Residents graced the occasion. The cutting of the ribbon was followed by a brief Havan ceremony to invoke blessings from Heaven for outage-free power for all the Residents forever. The ceremony ended with the distribution of Prasad.
South City JE and his team will now be available at this complaint centre during office hours. The SCRWA team hopes this small step will help in the early resolution of all electricity-related complaints of Residents of South City – 1.
