“It’s our Voice vs their Noise,” says Col Pratap
Dr Puja Dewan (H.no.61) wrote, “It perplexes me why the Club is playing music each day. It was supposed to be weekly on Wednesday. Why again on Sunday evening as well and before time it’s not yet 8:30 and it’s playing at high volume? Let’s collectively raise this issue of noise pollution and disturbance.
Subsequently her, father SM Dewan wrote to RWA Sec Rajesh Khanna: I would request you to keep the music and Noise pollution within the statutory limits and the Hon’ble Supreme Court guidelines. New CMC must act and demonstrate that it is different than old commercial objective Committee. We have great hope from the new Committee under Chairmanship of a senior and law-abiding IAS officer. Pl ensure that old wine is not served in new bottle at the cost of sleep of senior citizens living in immediate neighbourhood of the Club. If the guidelines are not readily available with the Club, I can make it available immediately.
He further added, Sir the time is 10.30 pm and the music is at 92 decibels at the boundary of the Club. It 200% of the legally permissible limit. How can we sleep? Please intervene, sir. The law puts a limit of 10 pm for playing loud-speaker in a residential colony and the attached screen shot is at 10.35 pm.
