In recent months, the frequency of speeding cars hitting others on DLF Phase 2 roads has increased multi-fold. In a proactive and effective measure to prevent accidents and control speeding, the resident groups approached the DLF Estate office to install speed breakers at some prime accident-prone points. Last month, besides some repairing work on key arterial roads, a few speed breakers were made on Dakshin Marg, Akashneem Marg, Vilas, Oakwood stretch and some other intersections in M block. One key spot that needs traffic and speed checks is the entry from highway @ Jacaranda Marg which is a high-risk spot for accidents at any time of the day or night.Further MCG Councillor office and DLF have also supported the installation of ‘Speed Limit (20)’ boards at three points and two ‘No Parking’ boards in DLF2. More such markers may be put in shortly. Be it pedestrians, cyclists, auto-rickshaws, and even stray animals, no one has been spared from the wheels of the aspiring F1 drivers in the colony.
