The focal point of this section of Noida is the Biodiversity Park, an ambitious project of the Noida Authority. Its uniqueness is the theme on which its developed and welcomes us at the entrance – the Nakshatra and their alignment.
Few months back an impressive clock was added, which drew huge crowd. People regular to the park told us that this clock was functional and showed the exact time. However, it became a selfie point. Groups used to gather near it and it drew so much crowd that it got damaged and stopped working. The horticulture department has dug out flower bed around the huge clock to keep away visitors from going closer.
Efforts on the part of the Authority gets defeated when public behaves senseless. Considering the spread of the entire park and the public, the administration should work out strategy to have a team of security staff. The points which draw most crowds should have security guards.
The project of such enormity, which has several sectors encircling, needs to have a strong vigilance arrangement. The team of horticulture department looking into the maintenance and tending to the greenery has to be diverse.
The flowers are blooming all over in this season. So it was a letdown for our team on the recent visit not to see as many varieties or well-manicured flower beds.
The planning of the park with various elements and sections is well thought of, but the development to its full form has to take pace.
The wicket entry gates should not be left open, a watchful eye is needed here.
In the winter months, families and senior groups who planned a day’s outing here were upset to see the presence of dogs, right at the entrance.
After meeting the residents of the nearby societies and sectors, Samvada team wants to appeal on behalf of the people. The massive project of Noida Authority, which started with felling of the forest trees to convert the land into large green area, has taken an amazing shape. But the work is not yet fully done. A lot more has to go into bringing the park to the level expected of this project.
