If you hear the Sound of Music at the Central Park don’t be surprised, it’s our very own Defence Colony’s music group ‘The Jammers’ performing there on Sundays. An idea conceptual-ized by Vivek Vaid (C-539) and an amateur group of musicians including Akshar Bhan (D-198) are not only promoting ingrown talent of residents but also helping to promote and revive the Central Parks neglected state with the help of authorities.
Held Sunday evenings at the Central Park the musicians with their assortment of songs and instruments, are proving quite popular. The enthusiasm of the Jammers in the Park has young kids and casual visitors at the park participating singing along, dancing and applauding to the well loved familiar numbers being played and sung by the group. Both the President Veena Khanna and Vice President Subashini Sood have also attended and enjoyed the musical evening with much appreciation. Here’s hoping to see the Jammers perform at the upcoming Diwali Mela.
