Looking at the highest level of pollution in Delhi NCR, few residents who are actively involved in the betterment of Environment were spreading awareness about a Green Diwali in Defence Colony. The Issue and Action group of Def col started their yearly campaign of “Say No to Crackers” which has been most effective to minimise the pollution levels in the colony. They created a series of posters which are installed at the main market, parks and other prominent places to create the base for Green Diwali. The response was quite positive as the residents are already suffering from smog throughout the day and not want to enhance with any added activity like crackers, bonfire, etc. These messages were also circulated in all the social media groups, Facebook etc. The sweepers and sanitation staff are also educated to not burn the waste in the colony.
