The most active helpline group of Defence colony “issues and actions” is once again geared up to ensure minimum crackers are burst in the colony by taking few preempted actions. The pollution levels will only go higher with each passing day due to winters but we need to take some preventive measures in October itself to make our Diwali Greenest in 2023.
• The Issue and action group will place banners with “I Say No to Crackers”. These banners will be placed at the RWA’s office, clubs, Markets, Parks, School bus stops etc to educate the residents especially school going kids
• There would be distribution of leaflets showing the after effects of crackers;
• The volunteers of this group will also visit colony parks to request the residents to not use any crackers this year; Pl. to avoid even green crackers, Candles etc
• The WhatsApp groups of defence colony will be targeted with attractive and interesting campaign on social media (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram etc)
We at Samvada request all the readers and residents of Def Col to please, I repeat please do not use any type of crackers this year and try to celebrate Diwali with sweets, love and fun with your family and friends. Let’s not add anything to the increasing pollution levels due to vehicles, crop burning, generators etc.
