It was a beautiful autumnal evening when I took my dog for its evening walk. After she finished her business on the vehicular movement side, we crossed over to the garden side for her socialising. (Yes, my dog gets to socialise more than I do!)
The Diwali Utsav had just gotten over & the remnants of it were being taken away by the vendors. I was lost in reminiscing about the last couple of days & what fun they had been when I noticed bright lights in the distance.
Lights? Hmm… Floodlights, Headlights, ultra-powerful torches, Transformers (the movie characters, not the electricity board wala), Divine Light (already)… Many thoughts crossed my mind before it registered that they were just car headlights.
Oh hello! Car headlights on the garden pathway? My first thought – “Oh maybe it’s an emergency”. But as I strolled towards the lights, the observer inside me buzzing with curiosity, I recognised this vehicle having crossed us on the driveway side.
So how did it land up here? Every resident on the garden pathway that evening – the elderly, the beautiful ladies, the kids – wore an addled look. As the car crossed next to me, I realised its occupants were equally befuddled!
Clearly, the car (not a resident’s) had erroneously entered the pathway from the clubhouse side & was now trying to exit at Gate 2. But the smaller gate leading to Gate 2 would have been closed.
So how did the car get out? Fly? Teleport? Dismantled & carried out piecemeal? Made to vanish by our resident Harry Potters & Hermiones? Well, your guess is as good as mine! (Disclaimer – I don’t wish to make light of a serious incident. A car on the garden pathway could have been dangerous, especially in the peak evening time. Residents are requested to guide their guests to exit using the correct path.)
