An absolutely mesmerising and elegant Deepawali Milan was organised by United B-Five Residents’ Welfare Association on October 16. The first public program of this newly registered
RWA, was a huge hit as it was completely in-house showcasing the bonhomie and togetherness of the majority of the residents of the B-5 Block of SJE. It was graced by Atul Bhardwaj, Nodal Officer, South -MCD, as the Distinguished Guest, by more than 150 residents of the B-5 Block and also by members of many other RWAs of SJE.The program began by invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh with a melodious vandana along with lighting of the auspicious lamp. A soothing aarti dance by the lovely ladies of B-5 Block followed by a melodious bhajan set the festive tempo. Introduction of the recently inducted Executive Members of the new RWA was done by President, Yogesh Mittal. This gave all residents an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the selfless volunteers working for the welfare of the block.
The felicitation of senior ladies (Sushma Verma, Sulochna Vij, Santosh Dawar, Usha Kumar, Satwant Sehgal and Ms Shobha Kumar) who had, years back, designed, landscaped and maintained the B-5 Central Park was indeed a touching moment.
An inspiring poem recited by the Distinguished Guest, Atul Bhardwaj, Nodal Officer, South MCD, befitted the spirit of the newly formed RWA. A peppy folk song, an all-time favourite Bollywood number, a surprise guitar performance got everyone tapping their feet. The grand finale was marked by an energetic Dandiya performance by the gorgeous ladies of the block in their finery and beautiful traditional attire. The peppy music and perfect coordination electrified the atmosphere.
