For 2024, I here propose ‘24 Wishes’ for all the Residents. (1) May all Residents, Workers, Staff and their families have good health, happiness and prosperity in 2024. (2) May the blessings of elders and parents always be with us. (3) May our children continue to make us proud in their achievements in Academics, Sports and Cultural activities. (4) May all of us endeavor to become better humans. (5) May we have great success in our careers, businesses and assignments. (6) May we become more disciplined, responsible, compassionate and caring members of the Society and proud citizens.
(7) May we proactively protect the Environment and become effective Green Crusaders. (8) May the Force of Righteousness be always with us. (9) May we add Value to others around us and touch their lives in meaningful ways. (10) May we be strong, but not rude; be kind, not weak; be bold, not bully; be thoughtful, not lazy; be humble, not timid; be proud, not arrogant; and, lastly have humour without folly. (11) May we realise that this is the final Home for most of us and where we will grow old together. In any crisis, our neighbours who will come to our help first while our family members and loved ones may be far away.
(12) May we make more efforts in reaching out to our neighbours in need, in whatever way possible. (13) May we all help in making the Market clean, safe and environment friendly by regular campaigns. (14) May we realise that our Security, Housekeeping, Horticulture, Maintenance, Accounts and RWA office are working to match the expectations of all Residents. Can we not be a bit more understanding, compassionate and patient with them? (15) May we realise that the Board Members of RWAs – present, past and future – take up this assignment for welfare of the sector/society at the cost of quality time with family and friends, and their careers, businesses and other interests. Persons with good intentions to work for the betterment of the Sector/Society should come forward.
(16) May the Silent Majority make their presence felt by disapproving all negativity and disharmony. (17) May we realise that dissent is always good as long as it is not based on misinformation or disinformation, if it is raised with good intentions and follows the norms of civic society and decency. (18) May we realise that the most important ingredient of harmonious relationships is mutual trust and mutual respect. (19) May we be kind and understanding to all the support staff, courier boys, delivery boys and act humanely towards them.
(20) May we enjoy the infrastructure provided in the best possible manner to pursue our interests and become more health conscious for our own sake. (21) May we enjoy all festivals and celebrations in the true spirit of oneness and camaraderie, but being sensitive about inconvenience to others. (22) May we realise that decisions need to be taken holistically for the residents and not based on priorities or individual likes/dislikes. (23) May we realise that the existing level of residents’ participation may be inadequate; more time and involvement is required to be devoted by more people – just criticism is both the easiest and the least effective way to help in betterment of life. (24) May ‘we together’ make 2024 much better!
