The MCD (Health) Team has been regularly visiting Anand Niketan including homes and parks to reduce breeding of dengue mosquitoes. They have issued the following advisory and information where the dengue mosquitoes breed.
1. Drain at the main gate
2. Collected water in a flower pot even if there is mitti in it.
3. Flower pot tray
4. Bird pots
5. Bamboo plant & money plant
6. Cooler
7. Window AC tray
8. Container attached with AC outlet pipe
9. Uncovered overhead tank
10. Discarded item on the roof / garden/ court yard (earthen pot, tyre, container etc.)
11. Haudi.
12. Water collected on the roof
13. Show piece water fountain
14. Fridge defrost tray
15. Any water storage container in the servant room.
16. If water is found collected in any of these, throw it away (where ever possible) of sprinkler diesel/ petrol.
In many parks, a lot of bird pots were found to be the breeding ground. Necessary steps have been taken by the MCD as of now but if found again in the same manner, the MCD has been directed to destroy them.
