DCWA “C” Block Club’s Christmas Special

This was the last celebration of the year, very special because it was by the residents of Defence Colony for the residents of Defence Colony. The beauty of this Christmas get- to-gether was there was no stampede, no jostling, a steady stream of members with their guests, welcomed by the smell of hot coffee, chocolate, delicious cakes, and all things that had, “Sugar & Spice & Smiles”. In the adjacent lawn, stalls were set up by the parents, and their young adults. The stalls had sustainable craft items, jewelry, fabrics, and other handmade items. The kids organized and initiated games that brought all others into their gambit of delight. The stalls were packed with enthusiasts. A delightful medley of recorded, instrumental, Christmas, and popular tunes was being played. In the far corner a kiddies corner, castle, slide, trampoline, etc. was in a place where our under 7’s were enjoying themselves. The club had invited 20 economically underprivileged children to participate. Food and drink were provided which they enjoyed. They were also given a gift each from Santa. The cub library was as excited as the rest of our club, the library was ready to welcome Santa and our young readers. The Story of Christmas was in a nativity scene displayed in a basket – complete with a Christmas tree, booties, and a snowman.
