SDA has become a hub for day time robberies. Big cycles used by adults as well as small bikes used by children and now being targeted. These daytime thefts started from last summer and now this summer it has risen to such an alarming extent that one always feel unsafe and there is a danger to life and property. Every second day a case of a stolen bicycle is being reported and the police & security guards are all in the dark. Police calls it petty thefts. Colony gates are opened after 5 am and the guards leave at that time, a fact that seems to be known to the thieves giving way to such thefts . These thefts are now not only limited to bicycles but different items Like AC outdoor units and water pumping motors are also being stolen. The residents are now caging them & and trying to find different ways to safe guard their valuables but the thieves are finding different ways of stealing. The most vulnerable time is early morning and afternoons. Almost all blocks of SDA have reported stolen bicycles and motors etc .. residents now fear that their locks can also be broken in the day time and their houses can be ransacked.
More beat patrolling is needed in the colony and the security guards need to be pulled for being more vigilant.
