Nowadays, it has become very dangerous to walk on the sector roads due to negligence on the part of the electrical department of Noida Authority. In the recent past, it has been noticed in one instance that electrical line wires and joints are inadequately and casually insulated which are as good as naked live connections near one of the junction boxes. This junction box is physically located outside the park adjoining to Shivalik houses and opposite to Trifla park toilets. The site itself presents a very shabby picture of the workmanship of electrical wires, joints and the connections. While passing by the side of these connections, one of the resident’s pet got an electric shock which revealed such sorry state of affairs. Luckily there was no damage/loss but it has brought up a very important issue on the surface which needs immediate attention of the concerned authorities.
This issue assumes immense importance as it involves a great risk to precious human life which cannot be ignored at any cost. The risk factor is likely to magnify exponentially in the coming rainy season due to tracking of electric current through water and moist earth. As such, it’s high time for the electrical department of Noida Authority to address this issue without any further loss of time. Since only one incident has been mentioned here which came to light, possibility of more similar deficiencies at other locations in the sector cannot be ruled out. It is therefore suggested to carry out a survey of all the similar electrical installations in the sector and immediately carry out necessary rectification of the electrical wires and joints with proper insulation wherever required.
Remember, the danger is lurking on human life on the sector roads and one cannot be lucky every time.
