Cyber Awareness Lecture Held For PCPH Senior Citizens

On Sunday, 2 February, a Cyber Awareness Lecture was conducted for the PCPH senior citizens as part of the monthly welfare initiative started by its AOA. This was the second gathering in the series, aimed at taking care of their needs, welfare, educating and protecting senior residents from rising cyber threats.

The session was led by Air Commodore Nrip Kumar Mehta, VSM (Retd), with attendees including Inspector Punit Kumar Singh and Sub-Inspector Sushil Singh from the Cyber Cell, Thana Sector 126, Noida Police.

The event saw participation of around 45 senior citizens and BOM members in attendance. In his talk, Air Commodore Mehta captivated the audience with real-life examples of cyber frauds and the latest fraudulent practices adopted by scammers. He shared a personal experience of being defrauded for ` 1.33 lakhs after losing his mobile phone, detailing how he fought back and recovered his full amount in 107 days.

Air Commodore Mehta’s insights created a sense of urgency among the attendees, who engaged in a discussion, asking numerous questions about cyber safety.

Following the session, the residents gathered for a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the birthdays of five senior citizens born in January. The event blended learning with a warm community gathering, reinforcing the spirit of care and vigilance among PCPH’s senior residents.

With cyber threats, such initiatives play a crucial role in empowering seniors with protection. The AOA, PCPH remains committed to organizing such informative sessions in the coming months.
