To foster a love for nature by PH2CWS, PH2 residents came together for a session on the Basics of Gardening. Led by Bibek Kumar, a horticulture enthusiast, the session aimed to educate par-
ticipants about soil mixture, sapling care, & the joys of tending to plants.
Bibek delved into the essentials of creating a suitable soil mixture for plant growth. He shared insights on the ideal composition of the soil, emphasizing the significance of nutrient-rich mediums to promote healthy plant development.
Participants learned about the importance of organic matter, minerals & drainage for ensuring growth.
Bibek also shed light on the art of sapling care, stressing the significance of providing adequate sunlight, water, and nutrients to young plants. One of the key objectives of the session was to instil a passion for gardening in the younger community members.
The success of the session was evident in the enthusiastic participation by both elders & children. Residents engaged with Bibek, asking questions & seeking guidance on various gardening aspects.
The interactive nature of the event fostered an environment of shared learning & camaraderie.
As a takeaway, every participant was presented with a Jade sapling, symbolizing the beginning of their own gardening journey. This gift served as their first project, providing an opportunity to implement the knowledge gained from the session.
The excitement & sense of responsibility displayed by the attendees were indicative of us being united in our dedication to fostering a greener environment.
As the community continues to embrace the wonders of gardening, the session has set the stage for a greener, more vibrant future for PH2.
