The barricading of the ‘commercial plot’, the strip of land facing societies across Mahagun Maple to Meghdutam apartments, sent ripples of concern among the residents staying on this side of F-block Sector-50. Over years they have been facing construction activities – the coming up of the 7x societies, Spectrum Mall and now the shopping complex for which the work is going to begin.
The affected residents highlight the following crucial issues that need to be addressed to maintain the quality of life and the environment within the community, during construction.
1. Sunlight and Wind Blockage: The new construction will significantly obstruct the natural sunlight and wind flow vital for a healthy living environment. This obstruction will have a negative impact on the overall ambiance and comfort within the residential area.
2. Extended Construction Hours: The construction work is being carried out beyond the permissible hours, causing noise pollution and disrupting the tranquility of our surroundings, which affects the well-being of the residents who seek a peaceful living environment.
3. Road Digging: The recent road excavation for construction purpose has not only created inconvenience for residents but also poses potential hazards to traffic and pedestrians. The safety of our community members is at stake due to the inadequate road management during this construction phase.
4. Encroachment of Trees: We have noticed that several trees were taken inside the boundary wall of the construction site, which were later spared. This raises concerns about the preservation of our green spaces.
5. Risk to Pedestrians: The presence of large girders against the boundary wall is alarming. It is eating away walk way used by pedestrians, as the make-shift construction activity wall is almost up to the road
Residents are concerned and want to request the administration/management to take immediate action to address the above concerns and rectify the situation. It is essential to prioritize the well-being of the residents, uphold environmental standards, and ensure that construction activities are conducted within permissible limits.
