The cricket fever took over Crescent as India marched forward winning all ten matches of the World Cup series. The much awaited finals between India and Australia on 19 November had a huge audience in Crescent as residents had live screening done on big digital screen projector. They enjoyed the match in blue jerseys and waving Indian flag. The first half was screened at the community hall and then the “stadium” was shifted to the badminton court. The second half also had paid stalls by residents for Kashmiri kahwa, rolls, cutlets, nimbu-pani, popcorns, cold drinks and Mumbai bhel etc. Although India lost the match, Crescent’s community feeling and comradeship won again!
In Meghdutam Rangmanch Fest 2023, “Stories and Theater in the Park” was organized on 18 November. Crescent ladies participated in a play – Guru Ghantaal Jhamele Mein – directed by Sarla Adhikari. Main characters were played by Renu Bajpai, Vanita Raina, Meeta Paliwal, Sushma Singh, Kalpana Singh, Shalini Chawla , Suneeta Rathi, Rita Gupta and Vandana Beri, supported by Rinku Kalra, Shruti Goel , Shweta and Shivani. It was an entertaining and naughty play where a cunning religious conman was frustrated by a school boy to the extent of making him run away in hiding. The ladies had very little preparation time, and most of the artists were first-timers, but their hard work, confidence and dedication was evident in the performance. Crescentarians were there to cheer the ladies and enjoy the play.
The “Numismatics and Philately Exhibition” on 26 November for collection of coins, currency, stamps etc. under the festival also had Crescent’s presence. Little Aditya Chauhan (A-201) showcased his “Coin collection and Stamps from Around the World”. Little Aarsh (A-702) also participated with his collection of sea shells and stamps. The enthusiasm of both gen-next prodigies was conspicuous. The exhibition proved to be a stepping stone for them on a path of self-discovery and getting insights for their future Numismatics and Philately journey from the experts of the field who also participated in the event.
Crescent has been actively participating in the Meghdutam Fest right since its inception, and residents continue to demonstrate their God-gifted talents and expertise in various fields in the fest. Compliments to the society and its residents; and felicitations for the current and future contributions. “Your talent is God’s gift to you, what you do with it is a gift back to God,” said Leo Buscaglia.
