On today’s digitally-driven world of instant information, libraries remain vital pillars of education, community, and intellectual growth. Libraries indeed are institutions to empower citizens and this article is about an upcoming library in Park No. 3 of Suncity.
Anushka Agrawal, a resident of E block, seeks to establish “The Book Nook Club”, a self-service library in Suncity. Currently in the making, the library will be located in the gazebo (hut-like structure) in Park No. 3 and it shall function on trust and technology. Residents can borrow books from the library for two weeks by registering on the Book Nook Club website. It will have a list of the available books which can be issued. The most important aspect of this Library club is the belief that the reader will return the book timely and in good condition. This incredible initiative will only be successful with the support and contribution of Suncity Residents. If you have books that you would like to donate to the Book Nook Club, please drop them off at E5 1st floor. This would help to build a bigger and better collection of books for our first advanced self-service library at Suncity.
An avid reader myself, I strongly believe that knowledge from books cannot be replaced by the convenience of the internet or modern technology. The Book Nook Club will not only help us access a wide range of books but will also enable residents to borrow books efficiently, thanks to its self-checkout system. We appreciate Anushka for coming up with this innovative idea and its effective implementation. Residents are highly encouraged to engage with the library once its operations begin in October.
