Councillor Comes Visiting Anand Niketan

ANRWA puts up list of pending works

The ANRWA Team had a meeting with Councillor, Ms Himani Jain and her husband, Mr Abhishek Jain along with Officials from BSES, MCD Sanitation, Horticulture, Maintenance. It was a fruitful meeting wherein the following issues were taken up and discussed:

  1. Sanitation issues including demand for additional Sanitation karamchari for Anand Niketan especially on the road from gate no. 6-3 and around Dussehra park. The colony of Anand Niketan is quite big area wise and the deployment of the present number of safai karamcharis is not sufficient.
  2. The MCD loaders deployed to pick up leaves and green garbage from the parks are not available most of the time. With erratic availability of vehicles the green garbage rots in the parks rather than reaching the MCD designated composting sites.
  3. Re Carpeting of Roads and laying of interlocking tiles in the back lanes and pavements roadsides/berms of the colony. A number of roads in the colony need recarpeting and a number of backlanes need to be retiled with interlocking tiles.
  4. Top Pruning of Trees. A number of trees 8n the colony have grown to massive height in absence of timely head backing. They have become a danger to life and property as many branches from such trees break and fall during thunderstorms. Timely pruning and headbacking are a must as we enter the monsoon period.
  5. Desilting of rain water drains. With monsoon in place, regular desilting of rains is required so that waterlogging and flooding can be avoided.
  6. Pruning of dangerous/ obstructive trees and pruning in areas of the Colony where it was not done earlier should be taken on priority.
  7. Repair of boundary walls, gates and walking tracks in various parks too is a must for public convenience and safety.
  8. Removal of encroachments on the Gurudwara road and Shastri market which serve as entry points to the colony. Many new encroachments are springing up too. This needs to be curtailed.
  9. New swings in E Block and Children’s Park and repair of existing ones is required.
  10. Composting activity carried out by Westend RWA which is causing inconvenience to our residents on Armenia Street needs to be looked at and a solution needs to be found.
  11. Requirement of new lights and poles to cover dark spots in back lanes.
  12. Ways to address the illegal PG Flats in the Colony
Apart from above, the Councillor apprised us of the following initiatives / decisions that have been taken by her :
    A) Installation of FeedBack/ Complaint boxes ( locked) at designated places in the Colony. The First such Box has been installed outside the Society Office. The same would be cleared by the office of the Councillor every week. You are requested to avail of this also for giving suggestions, feedback and the redressal of your grievances.
Information about the pending three boxes will be given as and when received.
    B) The MCD shall undertake Cleanliness Drive to clear the back lanes of Malba and other junk lying there. Once done, if Malba or any other kind of garbage is found again, after identification of the person / resident responsible for the same, challans / penalty will be issued/imposed.
The Co ordinated Team of the ANRWA and MCD will be conducting a survey soon for the same.
    C) Removal of Encroachment in Shastri Market and the area around Anand Niketan will soon be undertaken. Requisition for the Police Force has already been given at the concerned Police Station.
