S Block has two large composting enclosures in the ECO park (located inside the main park). SBWS looks after this park as officially appointed custodian by MCD & Delhi Govt. The purpose of these enclosures is to covert the fallen /trimmed tree leaves in to Compost. The capacity of these enclosures is around 2000 Kgs. The process of conversion in to Compost takes about a year. Water & some chemicals, supplied by horticulture department are sprayed on the decaying leaves from time to time. Last month, around, 160 bags of 6 kg each have been distributed to the residents free of cost (About 1000 kgs). Market price of good compost is around Rs 60 per Kg. All gardening enthusiasts are very happy after getting this free facility.
