Sector 26 Noida

Controversy On Opening of Wicket Gates Starts Again

Residents Should Not Insist on Personal Convenience!

Our sector is a very vulnerable sector from security point of view. Two hospitals, one school, two mandirs, a club & a community centre right in the middle of the residential area make our sector one of most difficult sector to manage.

For RWCS to manage security with very limited resources is a tough task or say an impossible task. Whenever there is an incident of security lapse like chain snatching or intrusion not only the directly affected residents even the other fellow residents throng the groups with damaging comments against the RWCS. However, when it comes to supporting the management in its effort more than 50 % don’t even pay their subscription and most of them look at their personal convenience.

During covid and immediately after covid RWCS was forced to close most of the gates except one or two of them and the residents happily cooperated and did not bother about personal convenience. Over a period of time residents forced the RWCS to open most of the main gates and wicket gates.

Recently due to a few cases of chain snatchings and intrusions and on recommendation of senior police officers who visited our sector RWCS was forced to close some wicket gates. Residents living close to these gates erupted with adverse comments on the sector whatsapp groups and questioned the RWCS management the basis of their decision. Following are some remarks:

Dear Sanjeev, Kindly, apprise me as to why the small entry gates No 10 and 12 are not open for residents who would like to enter through those gates while taking a walk on the main road outside the sector. Are these gates the personal property of the residents living close by to them? Let me inform everyone that all the gates got installed with the contribution of Rs 25000 each which came from the founder members of the club and amongst them I am one resident who contributed. I want the side gates to be opened to enter the sector from the main road, so kindly get the needful done.

Comment by Ajit Singh: During last month when DCP visited our Sector recommended to close wicket gates from security angle.

Reply by RWCS Prez Govind Sharma:

These wicket gates are closed for security reasons. If we go with your logic then all the wicket gates will have to be opened which will be a big security hazard. I would request all friends not to make issues for personal convenience.

If residents are serious about better security, then they have to manage with some personal inconvenience as we all did during covid. We should only have four guarded gates on all four sides during the day time and only one after 11 pm.
