The construction goes full throttle in C block, good for the owners but a nightmare for the neighbours as no one follows the rules. I have seen people choking the poor big trees because of the boundaries that are built so tight around them that they can barely survive, they pour acid into the roots of a healthy tree to make it wilt away, and they keep getting the branches removed until the dry stem remains, in the name of pruning.
Human nature is to be selfish and take in abundance that which is provided free! The height of selfishness was seen in the picture where they were demanding that the tree should be uprooted because it was blocking their view. Amazing! If they approach the Green Tribunal, they will have to pay a hefty sum to transplant the tree elsewhere, construction choked the tree and shifted its position and still, they have the guts to give a reason- it is blocking the view and would fall down. I am afraid of the scenario the urban scenery would offer after a few years, arid, brown, without a hint of green, are we planning to live like that? Is that the future we are expecting our children to face? Quite selfish! No?
