A young labourer started a regular day at work on 3rd April at Q 4 lane at a site under construction. Little did he know that before the day ended, he would succumb to death. The young boy fell from an upper floor while doing marble work.
The police and forensics team were called to the site and the body was taken for post mortem. The distraught family was heartbroken. There is no further information available on the further course of action by legal authorities.
The lack of use of any body harness and open parapet spaces at construction sites is a common sight. The awareness and use of safety equipment should not just be encouraged but rather mandated.
Checks and measures must be put in place to ensure that DTP guidelines are followed at all construction sites and that no innocent lives are lost in any such accidents ever again.
