Connecting Roots – in Morpheus

What we plant in the soil of contemplation today is what we shall reap in the harvest of action tomorrow. Don’t bother explaining miracles of God, Simply make your child plant a tree
and see it blossom. To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow and we, at Mahagun Maestro, for sure believe in our children who will make a better tomorrow!

With the above in mind, MMRWA organized an event for our society children to understand and unconsciously imbibe the life-learning lesson. We came up with a fun and educational half-day project for children where they would germinate some seeds of vegetative plants. It was planned that the children would be made to understand the needs of the plant and the entire process from germination to cultivation.

A part of park was made ready for the activity. The purpose of this project was for the children to witness their own planted plant grow and reap the fruits of their effort. The learning session was to be on the home ground, so the participants were asked to come in comfortable attire. Seeds and gardening tools were provided to them arranged by MMRWA.

So on one pleasant March morning, at around 9:30 am, the enthusiastic children gathered for the fulfilled learning-by-doing session. It turned out to be a wonderful group activity; children were seen helping each other and sharing their comments – some as queries and few wanted to tell what they knew. Parents and guardians were equally involved with the children.

Later in our society group we received appreciative message. “Wonderful initiative, catch them young and watch them grow,” said one. Another takeaway lesson got beautifully expressed with this message – “Apart from doing something new, it teaches our kids to respect farmers, learn patience and understand the value of the sabji on their plate! We should definitely keep this going.”
