A free health check-up camp was organized by the RWA Sector-92, for the residents. An initiative of Lions Club Delhi Shri Radha in collaboration with a cancer research center and super speciality hospital, the camp was organized by the club’s Cancer Detection & Prevention Committee, chaired by Lion Preeti Hora and Lion Sunita Jetly. According to the committee, “This initiative is especially important in post-Covid times.”The main objective of organizing the camps was toraise health awareness by providing free checkup sand cancer screening for the overall health of the communities.
The camp provided necessary facilities for health checkup and cancer screening. This included, general check by aphysician, physical examination, bloodpressure, random blood sugar, pulmonary function test, bonemineral density, oral screening for cancer, gynecology check-up, pap smear (as advisable and applicable), mammogram(above 45 year and earlier when required) and Chest X-Ray.
The timing for the check-ups was between 10 am to 4 pm. The pap smear, mammogram and X-ray was done in the (DCFRC) mobile van. Cancerscreening was done in a specially customized bus 12 meters long, 3.27 meters wide, which required space for turning and safe parking along with a 16 am phereplug point with uninterrupted powersupply for the operation of the diagnostic equipment.
The response was good; many came to get the benefit of this opportunity.
